About

I am Siobhán and I am an aspiring illustrator and artist. I will not pretend to be a particularly complicated person; I am obsessed with art, travel, history, people, beauty; I have an overactive imagination, a passion for learning, and am pretty much a child in an adult’s body.
In a nutshell, I love pretty and hate maths.
I have an educational background in both practical art and the more academic subjects of anthropology, archaeology and art history. What I have learnt throughout both educational experiences have indeed affected my art style; from looking at ancient carvings, religious forms and cultural objects to classical and modern aesthetic art. I believe fervently that a good grounding in drawing is the essence to better artistic expression but equally that a removal from the constraints of an artistic security blanket can lead to a free-er style. This is something I am continually striving to do.
I am forever overwhelmed and inspired by the phenomenal artistic talent that I see everywhere, across the Internet, in books, at exhibitions, and so on. Whilst constantly in awe of others and what they can create I am forever working to improve my art, to make tangible what I see in my mind and ultimately, to hopefully have a positive affect on someone who looks at my creations.
So please feel free to join me in my journey. Yay!
