I think is is actually one of my favourite paintings. I’m not sure why, possibly because there are sentimental reasons behind it but also just because it makes me feel good when I look at it. And that is pretty much what I try to achieve with my work.

I have been doing a few of these tiny canvas paintings recently and am really enjoying them. They are too rewarding for words and look gorgeous on a mantlepiece.

Mini Cherries

I’ve been painting a lot of mini canvasses of late. They suit my intricate style well and I can really focus on refining my brushwork. I shall be putting a few up on my site for sale eventually, but in the mean time I am willingly taking commissions for mini pieces of art. They’re more affordable than bigger pieces of art and placed on mini easels they make gorgeous personal presents. Feel free to email me with any questions regarding my work.

Tree of Life

I’m not going to say too much about this painting as I feel it should speak for itself. I’m rather sad that it couldn’t translate properly into the digital realm because of the silver paint and gemstones. I’ve sewn amethyst, aquamarine and felspar into the canvas using silver wire. It should be seen to be felt really. Don’t take the swirls at face value, they are full of hidden symbols.

This was a spur of the moment painting, I simply started in the corner and let it unfold. I love painting this way, the finished piece is always a surprise!

This is one of my more recent pieces of work painted as a gift for some dear friends of mine who’s love of the sea is even greater than mine. I thank them for their unending enthusiasm for my work and their inspiration.
